Procedure – DAY ONE

  1. Place cutting board on the utility cart.  Place digital scale on cutting board.  Place a pouring pitcher on the scale and tare the weight.  Cut oatmeal soap in chunks and add to the pitcher.  Add 5.75 oz (as close as you can get on the scale) of oatmeal soap to the pitcher.  Store remaining oatmeal soap in plastic bag for future use.
  2. Measure the following oils and add to a shot glass and gently stir to combine uniformity:
    • 0.125 tsp tea tree essential oil
    • 0.25 tsp frankincense essential oil
    • 0.25 tsp peppermint essential oil
    • 0.5 tsp chocolate fragrance oil

Set the shot glass with the oil aside for later steps.

3. Place the pitcher, with oatmeal soap, in the microwave.  Melt the soap in 20 second bursts until the soap has melted.  Check the temperature too with the temperature gun.  Do not let the soap get hotter than 140 deg F.  Scorched soap is not good.

4. Once the soap is partially or completely melted, add 1/8 tsp of green mica to the oatmeal soap.  Using a spatula, gently stir the mica into the soap until there is a consistent color.  You may need to add to the microwave for an additional 10 seconds to keep the soap temperate around  125 degrees F.

5. Add the oils to the pitcher of colored, melted soap.  Stir gently to completely incorporate the oil into the soap.

6. Add 0.5 tsp of poppy seeds to the soap mixture.

7. Spray 91% isopropyl alcohol onto the soap to disperse and air bubbles.

8. Spritz the round embed mold with 91% isopropyl alcohol too to help disperse air bubbles when pouring the soap.  Place the mold in an empty cannister to support the mold.

9. Slowly pour the oatmeal soap into the round embed mold.

10. Spritz again with alcohol and let it cure for the day.

Procedure – DAY TWO

  1. Unmold the round embed soap.  Place on a cutting board and cut the round embed soap into 1” sections to create 12 embed segments.  Set these aside.
  2. Place cutting board on the utility cart.  Place digital scale on cutting board.  Place the first pouring pitcher on the scale and tare the weight.  Cut olive oil soap in chunks and add to the pitcher.  Add 20.7 oz (as close as you can get on the scale) of olive oil soap to the pitcher.  Store remaining olive oil soap in plastic bag for future use.  Repeat this step again with another pouring pitcher and the oatmeal soap.  Measure 14.8 oz (or as close as possible) of the oatmeal soap.

3. For the OLIVE OIL SOAP, measure the following oils and add to a shot glass and gently stir to combine uniformity:

  • 0.75 tsp tea tree essential oil
  • 1.75 tsp frankincense essential oil
  • 1 tsp peppermint essential oil
  • 1.75 tsp chocolate fragrance oil

4. For the OATMEAL SOAP, measure the following oils and add to a shot glass and gently stir to combine uniformity:

  • 0.625 tsp tea tree essential oil
  • 1 tsp frankincense essential oil
  • 1 tsp peppermint essential oil
  • 1.5 tsp chocolate fragrance oil

Set the shot glasses with the oils aside for later steps.

5. Place the pitchers, with olive oil and oatmeal soap, in the microwave.  Melt the soap in 20 to 30 second bursts until all is melted.  Check the temperature too with the temperature gun.  Do not let the soap get hotter than 140 deg F.  Scorched soap is not good.

6. Once the soap is partially or completely melted, add 1/8 tsp of cappuccino mica to the olive oil soap and ¼ tsp of the green mica to the oatmeal soap.  Using spatulas, gently stir the mica into the soap until there is a consistent color.  You may need to add to the microwave for an additional 10 seconds to keep the soap temperate around  125 degrees F.

7. Add the oils to the respective two pitchers of colored, melted soap.  Stir gently to completely incorporate the oil into the soap.

8. Add 2 tsps poppyseeds to the olive oil soap and 1.5 tsps poppyseeds to the oatmeal soap.

9. Spray 91% isopropyl alcohol onto the soap to disperse and air bubbles.

10. Spritz the hexagon mold with 91% isopropyl alcohol too to help disperse air bubbles when pouring the soap.

11. Place one round embed segmented oatmeal soap in each of the hexagon cavities.  Spritz with 91% isopropyl alcohol.

12. Slowly pour some of the olive oil soap into each of the mold cavities.  Spritz with alcohol.

13. Repeat with the oatmeal soap.

14. Spritz again with alcohol and let it cure for the day.
